BioPRESS™ Belt-Filter Press is a sludge dewatering machine that is used for continuous desludging of POME sludge amongst other processes. It operates by sandwiching biosolids between sets of tensioned belts, utilising a combination of chemical and mechanical processes.

POME slurry of low to medium solids content(ranging from 1.5% to 5% solids content) is first chemically treated with polymeric flocculants. It is then subjected to gravitional thickening, before finally going through shear and lateral forces from the belt system.
